“Do all things with love”
This line was created to help raise money The National Alliance to End Homelessness; a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States.
DID YOU KNOW?
Seventeen out of every 10,000 people in the United States were experiencing homelessness on a single night in January 2019 during HUD’s Annual Point-in-Time Count. Of the approximate 568,000 people, about 40% of them were African Americans. African Americans are STILL disproportionately more likely to experience homelessnessthan people of other races.
What’s causes Homelessness? The lack of affordable housing for low income, unemployment, poverty, mental illness and substance abuse (and the lack of needed services), domestic violence and racial inequality are among the top reasons.
The recent Senate bill includes no money for homelessness and housing, failing to protect people experiencing homelessness and the systems that serve them.
NAEH promotes policies that will help end homelessness. These policies, in both the Executive and Legislative branches, incentivize practices that are the most effective, and provide additional funding and other support to those practices. They are working hard to find solutions to the problem such as rehousing, supportive housing and income opportunities and services.
With every purchase from these bags, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to NAEH in support of the work they are tirelessly doing every day to create hope and change lives.
